Specific direct to direct conversion formulas Calculation: Resultant Denier = Count of single ply
                                                                  × Number of plies Resultant Denier = 30 Denier × 3
            Here are the most commonly used conversion formulas:
                                                                  Resultant Denier = 90 Denier
            1 Tex to Denier and vice versa
                                                                  Result: The 3-ply yarn has a resultant count of 90 Denier.
               - Denier = Tex × 9 (Since Denier is g/9000m and Tex Conversion from indirect to direct system
                  is g/1000m, Denier’s reference length is 9 times
                  that of Tex) Converting from an indirect to a direct system means
                                                                  you’re changing from a system where a higher number
               -  Tex = Denier / 9
                                                                  indicates a finer yarn (e.g., Ne) to a system where a
            2 Tex to Decitex and vice versa higher number indicates a coarser yarn (e.g., Tex or
               - Decitex = Tex × 10 (Since Decitex is g/10000m Denier). Therefore, the conversion formulas typically

                  10 times that of Tex) Some common conversions with examples:

               - Tex = Decitex / 10 1 English cotton count (Ne) to tex
            3 Denier to Decitex and vice versa: • English cotton count (Ne): Number of hanks
               - Decitex = Denier / 0.9 (or Denier×910) (each 840 yards long) per pound (lb) of yarn.
               -  Denier = Decitex × 0.9 (or Decitex×109)           •  Tex: Weight in grams of 1000 meters (1 kilometer)
                                                                       of yarn.
            Examples of direct to direct conversions
                                                                  Conversion formula
            Example 1: Tex to Denier
                                                                  Tex=Ne590.5
            Scenario: You have a synthetic yarn with a count of 50
            Tex. What is its count in Denier? Explanation

            Formula: Denier = Tex × 9                             •  We know that 1 pound (lb) = 453.592 grams.
            Calculation: Denier = 50 × 9 Denier = 450             •  We know that 1 hank (840 yards) = 840 * 0.9144
                                                                    meters = 768.096 meters.
            Result: A 50 Tex yarn is 450 Denier.
                                                                  • If you have ‘Ne’ hanks in 1 lb, then ‘Ne’ hanks weigh
            Example 2: Denier to Tex 453.592 grams.
            Scenario: A hosiery manufacturer specifies a yarn of 75 • The total length of ‘Ne’ hanks is Ne×768.096 meters.
            Denier. What is this in Tex?
                                                                  • Tex is grams per 1000 meters. So,
            Formula: Tex = Denier / 9                               Tex=Length in metersWeight in grams×1000
            Calculation: Tex = 75 / 9 Tex ≈ 8.33                    Tex=Ne×768.096453.592×1000 Tex≈Ne590.5
            Result: A 75 Denier yarn is approximately 8.33 Tex. Example

            Example 3: Tex to Decitex Convert 30 Ne cotton yarn to Tex.
            Scenario: A new fiber is being developed with a target Using the formula:
            count of 2.5 Tex. What would this be in Decitex? Tex=30590.5

            Formula: Decitex = Tex × 10                           Tex≈19.68
            Calculation: Decitex = 2.5 × 10 Decitex = 25          So, a 30 Ne yarn is approximately 19.68 Tex. This makes
            Result: A 2.5 Tex yarn is 25 Decitex. sense: 30 Ne is a relatively fine yarn (high indirect count),
                                                                  and 19.68 Tex is also a relatively fine yarn (low direct
            Example 4: Decitex to Denier count).

            Scenario: You receive a sample of yarn marked 110 2 English cotton count (Ne) to denier
            Decitex. You need to know its Denier count.
                                                                    • Denier: Weight in grams of 9000 meters of yarn.
            Formula: Denier = Decitex × 0.9
                                                                  Conversion Formula:
            Calculation: Denier = 110 × 0.9 Denier = 99
                                                                  Denier=Ne5315
            Result: A 110 Decitex yarn is 99 Denier.
                                                                  Explanation
            Example 5: Plied Yarn in Direct System
                                                                  • Since Denier is grams per 9000 meters, it’s 9 times
            Scenario: You have a 3-ply yarn, where each single ply the Tex value. Denier=Tex×9 Denier=Ne590.5×9
            has a count of 30 Denier. What is the resultant count of Denier≈Ne5314.5, often rounded to Ne5315.
